MAPPING FOCUS IDEA

Reading literature surrounding the topic 'Personal Branding' has left me with lots of key words I feel are connected, in relationship with or need to be explored further. I have mapped these as attached. KEY WORDS: Theorists, perspectives What Case Studies are already there? Affiliation Self Marketing Social Capital  Encourage Employment and Opportunity Social Media, Digital Era, Online Precence Guidance, Training, Knowledge Traditional Marketing  I am finding particular theorists surface in the majority of literature surrounding this topic, I am going to focus on researching and exploring their work.  Moving forward in my study I intend to: Read more theory surrounding personal branding Research what is Social Capital?  I'm interested to read your thoughts. 

ACADEMIC WRITING SESSION

On the 27/09/2021 I attended the Zoom Call with Peter Thomas and Helen surrounding Academic Writing. Peter broke down the 3 stages; Generate, Organise and Present your writing. Generate: Free write, Mindmap, Dictate, List, Private  Organise: Write about a particular part, Group Ideas, Find Themes Present: Proof read, How does it sound? We also discussed the notion of rewriting. As a group we brought to light how this could mean perhaps re-writing a draft, adding more explanation to it, reconsidering and rethinking. For the majority of this call we undertook the task of Free writing. We were presented with the question 'What is writing?' and had 5 minutes to Free write, which consisted of continuously writing, not looking back at what you had wrote nor thinking about the next sentence. Today I have spent my study reading exerts from different books and taking a closer look at the references included to try and expand my research. I began reading the beginning of the KORTEXT for Module 2, 'Qualitative Research for Physical Culture'. LITTLE WONDERS

I am mid way through my first in depth read through of the Module Handbook. My study has been centred around mapping focus ideas. An AOL in Module 1 was Marketing. I am really interested in this area and would like to unpack and explore it further. What are my l ittle wonders  surrounding this topic? The significance of personal branding online for freelance performers. The advance of digital marketing in the 21st century. Does digital marketing aid more opportunities? Whilst considering: Privacy Honesty Accessibility Authenticity As discussed in my previous blogs during Module 1, marketing is an important aspect of my practice as a performer. Creating a portfolio to showcase my image, talent and experience. I have very often been cast through online submissions, which is why I would like to explore marketing / personal branding online. INDUCTION CALL

.. And just like that, summer is over and Module 2 is upon us! This week we had our induction call with all of the Modules. It was great to see familiar faces from the course and be introduced to some of the new starters. Here is a recap from the 06/09/21. I hope this helps summarise the call. We were firstly introduced to the Programme Team.  Helen gave us a recap on the content and structure of the course.
