INDUCTION CALL
.. And just like that, summer is over and Module 2 is upon us!
This week we had our induction call with all of the Modules. It was great to see familiar faces from the course and be introduced to some of the new starters. Here is a recap from the 06/09/21. I hope this helps summarise the call.
We were firstly introduced to the Programme Team.
Helen gave us a recap on the content and structure of the course.
Module One:
Look back at significant areas to date, a process of reflection, what you situate your practise
Module Two:
Develop curiosity, what you'd like to understand more in terms of practice, reflect back on Module One, identify what you're curious about
Module Three:
Undertake research
We were told that the notion of the programme is rooted in your practice, continue to develop this throughout all three modules.
SUPERVISOR: A Critical friend along your journey.
Pillars of Support:
- Programme Handbook (overview of the course)
- Module Handbook (instructional guide)
- Supervisor
- Our community (blogs)
Thank you to those Module 3 students whom gave examples of their inquiry topic, I found these ideas really interesting and a great insight into the next Modules.
I'm feeling motivated to begin Module 2. This week I am going to focus on reading through the Module Handbook and finishing Bell's recommended book.
If any previous Module 2 Students have any tips for this next term then please comment away!

Hi Ellie,
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you already have a great start with m2 so well done for being so motivated.
My opinions/ advice for m2 would be to try not to panic....For me this module felt so overwhelming as there seems a lot more to it than previous modules. Take each part and dissect it first before trying to tackle it. The literature review was the hardest part for me as for ages i didn't understand and i think i took too long and endless hours reading books or parts of books that may not have been necessary. Plan your time wisely for this module, but by the sounds of it you are already on a roll.
The MORE form seems scary at first but hopefully you will get a session with a tutor to go over it. And then it is actually a lot of tick boxes- dont over think the MORE form.
Hope this helps. Like i said its just my opinions and you will def smash m2 so don't worry. x
This has been SO helpful thank you so much Clare! Good luck for Mod3 too!
